Today was Mom Day. I’m grateful, thankful, blessed, and _________. I’m not sure what to call it. I’ll leave it at that.
She had a FUN day at her fav pizza place, The Egyptian. Accd. to lore: The Egyptian is a real piece of Dallas history. In 1946, the great-grandparents Carlo “Papa” and Antonia Campisi purchased a bar at the corner of Knox and McKinney called the Idle Hour. In the small kitchen in the back, Papa created Texas’ first pizza, and in the process, Texas’ first pizzeria. Suffice it to say, she went there as a kid and remembers it fondly. She loves to tell EACH of our servers (we go often) that she brought me there when I was 3 months old. No, I don’t remember that! Her friend, John, joined us for the history lesson & pizza.
She was happy and that makes me happy. That’s good stuff.
