Last night at the hospital where my HH* works, there was an Exceptional Performance Awards dinner. The categories were Exceptional Patient Care, Individuals, and Teams; Exceptional Commitment, Individuals, and Teams; Exceptional Financial Performance and Growth, Individuals, and Teams; and Mission in Motion, Individual Finalists. He was an Individual finalist for his work as a Physician Advisor.
Here is the write up in the program:
In his short 12 months at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital, Dr. Schnitzer has become an integral part of our transformation journey. In his first months, Dr. Schnitzer’s efforts affected our hospital’s reimbursements by nearly $300,000 in a single month. Dr. Schnitzer is currently leading the initiative that will change the way we provide care to “hospitalized outpatients.” Through these efforts, we hope to improve outcomes with evidence-based care, efficient evaluation and decision making through a dedicated clinical decision unit. His effort will ensure we adjust to the changing landscape of healthcare, and most importantly enable us to continue to serve our community.
He won a lovely certificate, but more importantly, the acknowledgment he deserves for his hard work, dedication, and leadership. I am so proud of my HH. Fourteen months into this new journey looks pretty great for his career.
